The installation has been exhibited at Pallazzo Mallapieri in Venice, Italy, which was the official pavilion of the Republic of Cyprus in 2014. The venue was inside the city and as an antique palace has its charisma but also it difficulties. The installation was part of a bigger installation called the “The Anatomy of the Wallpaper” and our installation created an extrusion of the main installation in where a different narrative was told, the story of a shredded economy and the destruction of a national currency. Even though the work was highly critical, it was also a work providing a positive note. A vision for a future attitude.
The missing art work.
The work after the exhibition has been given to exhibit in the Czech Republic by one of the curators where it miraculously went missing until the day of today. Initially the idea between George and me was to donate it to the Republic of Cyprus, as it is a work about Cyprus and a part of its recent turbulent economic history. If the work eventually will be recovered from its missing status, it will travel back to Nicosia to find itself a final home for permanent exhibition.
